Group Project                                                                                                   Due Date: 4/24/20

Next week's letter is R.  Many of our activities will include rain.  As a class, we are going to write a simple story together.  Please help your student write a sentence like this:

When it rains, I like to _________________________________.

I will compile everyone's answers into one slideshow for the class to watch at home.  Please e-mail or text your student's answer to me by next Friday, April 24, 2020.  Thank you!

Writing Warm Ups for next week.

Good afternoon students and parents!  Thank you for checking the blog.  Next week we will have a writing warm up every day.  Please use the following schedule to help your student practice their writing!

Monday: Trace your name.  (Please go to the tab in your take home binder labeled, WRITING.  Find the page with your child's name on it.  Help them trace their name with a crayon, marker, pencil or highlighter.)

Tuesday: Number of the Week. (Please go to the tab in your take home binder labeled, NUMBERS.  Find the page with the number 13.  Help your student trace the number 13 and then write it independently five times in the space provided.  On the back you will see an umbrella.  Help your student color the umbrella and draw 13 raindrops around it.)

Wednesday: Letter of the Week.  (Please go to the tab in your take home binder labeled, LETTERS.  Find the page with objects beginning with the letter R.  Help your student name the objects, ask them what letter they hear at the beginning of the word, and write the word in the space under the picture.)

Thursday: Count the raindrops. (Please go to the tab in your take home binder labeled, MATH.  Find the page with raindrops and umbrellas on it.  Help your student count the raindrops in each box and write the number on the umbrella.)

Friday: Writing about the weekend. (Please go to the back of the binder where I have included sheets of blank paper.  Ask your student, "What are you looking forward to this weekend?" Have them draw a picture of their answer and help them to label it.  For example, if they are looking forward to playing outside and draw a picture of a swing, write swing next to the swing and ask them to trace your writing.  I like to use a highlighter for this activity and have them draw over my letters with a darker marker or crayon.  The more items you label and write, the better!)

Thanks so much for helping your students with their writing!  If you have any questions, e-mail, call or text me.
